Welcome to the Texas Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors website! I am truly proud to serve as President of such a great organization.
First of all, thank you to anyone and everyone who joined us for the 4th Conference at Great Wolf Lodge this past weekend. We had more than 50 coaches from across the state, lots of vendors and excellent speakers. It was definitely a howlin’ good time! We are so grateful to Traci Neely, UIL Assistant Director – Athletics for coming to speak to the cheerleading coaches and answering all of our questions. It was very much appreciated.
This year will bring a couple of changes to our TACCA Board of Directors. We are very excited to welcome our newest board member, Cassidy Lakota, from Mansfield Legacy High School. She will take the place of Rachel Luckett, Vice President of Membership, who has decided that it is time to take a step back for a while and has resigned her position.
For those of you who missed the TACCA Conference at Great Wolf Lodge, there is another opportunity for coaches’ education in July in Arlington, Texas. The Texas Girls Coaches Association is hosting their annual conference at the Arlington Convention Center and is including a spirit division portion to their conference for the first time ever. Check out their website at http://www.austintgca.com/summer_clinic/.
As we wrap up the 2014-15 school year and begin to work with our newly formed squads, be sure to carefully choose the right summer camp for your program. Find the camp that will help you to achieve your goals for the upcoming school year.
We hope that everyone will continue to monitor the TACCA website for upcoming events.
College recruitment clinic dates have been set. The North Texas College Recruitment Clinic will be at Lewisville HS in Lewisville, Texas on Sunday, February 15, 2015. The South Texas College Recruitment Clinic will be at Johnson High School in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Conference planning for next year will begin soon.
We invite you to explore this site and become a member of TACCA. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the TACCA Board Members. We are all ready, willing and happy to answer your questions or help you in any way possible.
